A Night with the Inyo Fundraiser
Event Description:
Spend an inspiring evening learning about the restoration of the museum’s true icon, the Inyo, Virginia & Truckee Railroad’s Locomotive No. 22. The evening will include time in the Restoration Shop with the museum’s restoration experts and the Inyo. Additional activities in the Jacobsen Interpretive Center will complete the magical evening.
Come be inspired and support the restoration of Nevada’s Inyo!
Event Admission:
Admission for this event is $100 per person and is limited to 100 attendees. All funds raised will go to the Inyo Restoration Project. The admission fee is tax deductible. To purchase tickets, please click below.

- Welcome/Hors d’Oeuvres

- Meet the restoration experts and the Inyo
Restoration Shop:
- Locomotive Frame/Running Gear: Focused discussion on the wheel pattern, driver centers, tires, and axles. In addition to the story behind the pattern, a brief synopsis of the life of the machinist Mr. G.L. Hesse who machined the No. 2 driver axle in 1926 as stamped on the axle and his tragic death.
- Locomotive Boiler/Firebox: Focused discussion on the construction methods of a Wagon Top boiler, the repairs/workorders completed in 1902-1903 during the last Class 2 shopping of the Inyo and sharing the detailed repair plan to include the materials, tooling, and repair methods to accomplish the refurbishment of the boiler.
