The Nevada State Railroad Museum is offering rides on the historic Virginia & Truckee McKeen Motor Car and the historic Tucson, Cornelia & Gila Bend No. 401 Edwards Motor Car!
Approximately 150 McKeen Motor Cars were built between 1905-1917 for various United States railroads. McKeen Motor Cars were built with a gas engine and were among the first pieces of railroad equipment to be designed aerodynamically. The Virginia & Truckee McKeen Motor Car is currently the only fully restored and operable McKeen Motor Car in existence.
The Edwards Motor Car was built in 1926 by the Edwards Motor Car Company, the 401 hauled passengers between Ajo and Gila Bend, Arizona, from 1926 until 1947.
Rides occur approximately every 30 minutes from 10:00am until 2:00pm.
McKeen Car Pricing: $12 per adult, $6 per child and museum friend’s members, $3 per child friend’s members.
Edwards Motor Car Pricing: $8 per adult, $4 per child and museum friend’s members, $2 per child friend’s members.
