September 10 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Pacific Coast Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society board member Marilyn Sommerdorf visits the museum to present on the snow fighting efforts of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad.

Snow blanketed the Virginia & Truckee Railroad several times during its existence. This presentation will feature the equipment and the men who kept the path of operation open during these trying events. Images and comments about the Central Pacific Railroad and the Carson & Colorado Railway are included to strengthen the need for snow fighting machines. The V&T Dayton is also featured. This presentation is dedicated to memory of Mike Collins, a well-respected historian of the Virginia & Truckee and draftsman known for his drawings of V&T railroad equipment.

Admission is $10 for adults. Free for museum members and children.
