Discover the captivating stories of the women featured in David Myrick’s two-volume set, Railroads of Nevada. This collection of stories is wide-ranging — from Mary J. Mack, who foreclosed on her husband’s Nevada Railroad Company in the ghost town of Olinghouse, to Mrs. T.L. Bowers who ran the Home Restaurant.

Patti Bernard is a third-generation Nevadan and former Nevada history teacher. As one of the chief historical researchers of the Nevada Women’s History Project, where she also formerly held a Chair position, she plays a pivotal role in preserving and promoting our state’s rich history.
A retired research librarian from the Nevada State Library, Mona Reno has dedicated more than 25 years studying and working with historians and researchers on Nevada history. She is past Chair of the Nevada Women’s History Project and continues to be an active and dedicated member of the organization.
